Fedup is correct there is usually a black wire coming out of the blower housing that grounds the magneto to kill the engine. All ignition switches have a terminal marked "G" (ground). It turned over weakly several times and then stopped turning over at all. I’ve cleaned all the battery cables and the main ground. I removed the spark plugs and that didn’t help. If your John Deere won’t crank and all you hear are clicking sounds when you turn the key, you likely have a bad battery or a bad connection somewhere between the battery and the starter.
