Return to Firelink Shrine and be happy that you can now run past the Sewer Centipedes without stopping to get Greirat's Ashes. 3 times i never even did his questline, and only told patches where Greirat went. Doing the points above should trigger the armour to be available by Patches and should allow you to send him out to find Greirat. I've done the above steps after the fact and it still worked. It actually seems to be exceedingly rare in the grand scheme. Well, she was living in Undead Settlement. And it is even mentioned in various places of undead from Undead Settlement dying, and being preserved and shit (explaining all the hanging bodies in the town)..
